Annotation: 

County school superintendent William Johnson had promised to resign when his contract ends in June, 1993; but Robeson County Black Caucus spokesperson Joy Johnson requested, for the sixth time, that Johnson’s contract be terminated immediately.  The Caucus presented the school board with statistics on racial inequities in hiring and salaries in the school system.  Several other recommendations are listed.  See also letter in support of Joy Johnson’s stance, 19 July 1992: 1A.
