North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory ordered the state flags to be set to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on June 11, 2015. This is on account of the passing of Jimmy Goins, who was a former Lumbee tribal chairman. Goins, 66, passed away in a single-car accident on June 7, 2015.

Gov. McCrory cited Goins’ military service and former Lumbee leadership in his official statement.
