Duke Energy has decided to recycle coal ash. Robeson County was powered by coal for decades. People have worried that the ash might get into the local drinking water. Duke Energy originally proposed moving the coal ash to a Lee County landfill, but they have announced that they will instead recycle it in creating cement blocks for bridges and buildings.
