The founder and the governing board of three Oakland charter schools could face a criminal investigation. $3.7 million in payments to businesses owned by founder Ben Chavis and his wife were among other allegations. The report also included over $25,000 in unauthorized credit card purchases by Chavis from 2009 to 2011, including purchasing San Francisco Giants tickets.
