Annotation:

Robeson County native Clint Lowery, the 44-year-old guitarist and songwriter for metal band Sevendust, attended the 58th Grammys in Los Angeles. The group was nominated in the Best Metal Performance category for their lead single “Thank You” from their most recent album “Kill the Flaw.”

While the band eventually lost to the Swedish group Ghost, “Kill the Flaw,” has brought Sevendust its most publicity to date. The album debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in October of 2015.

Lowery is the son of Willie French Lowery, a celebrated Lumbee musician, who passed away in 2012.

Sevendust is embarking on a United States tour later in the year, stopping in North Carolina on May 7 to perform in Concord.
