Annotation: 

The Cumberland County Board of Education voted to discontinue the tradition of letting Lumbee students wear a decorative stole when they graduate high school. Ricky Burnett is asking the Lumbee Tribal Council to lift the ban. The Education Committee is going to write a letter to the school board in an attempt to lift the ban. The school board members did not cite a reason for the ban.
