Lumbee Weightlifter Harold Collins was born in 1957 and is from Shannon, North Carolina. Collins is known as “Chief Iron Bear” and holds five Guinness World Records.

Collins received many awards, accolades and titles throughout his career. He holds the North Carolina super-heavyweight bench press record of 633 pounds. He was the U.S. Powerlifting Federation champ in the 125-plus kilo class from 1991-1993, and he also won gold medals in the World Bench Press Competition in 1991 and 1992. Collins was runner-up to the United States Strongest Man Competition in 1997 and placed in the top 10 of the World's Strongest Man Competition twice.

Collins has also been involved with many social causes throughout his life. He participated in “Say No to Drugs” and the March of Dimes, as well as establishing the Native American Strength Association. He was even a candidate for Lumbee tribal chairperson in 2000.

He is now the owner of Pembroke Power House Gym in Pembroke, North Carolina.
