Shiles, Bob. “Rise of foster children challenges DSS.” Robesonian [Lumberton, NC] August 29, 2014.

Annotation:

Because of the rise of foster children in Robeson County, the Department of Social Services has said that two more foster care workers need to be added, bringing the number of workers in the county to twenty. Foster care workers are responsible for working directly with foster families to make sure that children are safe in the homes where they are placed.

Anthony Maynor, the adoption supervisor for DSS, said that there is also a need for more foster families in Robeson County. Currently, he said, the county has 43 licensed homes, and that he would like for there to be 75 licensed homes.
