Cites an annual study by the North Carolina Department of Commerce's Division of Tourism, Films and Sports Development which shows that tourism spending in Robeson County increased $4.84 million in 1999 over the previous year. This figure represents a 6.3% increase over 1998 and placed Robeson County 30th among North Carolina's 100 counties as far as tourism's economic impact. The report also shows that tourism has grown steadily since 1989--a total increase of 56%.
