Citation:

Jenkins, Paul B.  “American Indian Cross-Bow.”  Wisconsin Archeologist 8.4 (1928-29): 132-35.

Annotation:

On a crossbow made (according to Calvin Lowrey) 100-150 years earlier.  Its manufacture and use support the Lost Colony theory.  Jenkins adds, “It is indisputable that [it] must have been learned by [Lumbee] ancestors from European arrivals.”  See note, Robesonian 29 May 1916: 3, that Hamilton McMillan gave the cross-bow to Col. Fred Olds for the Hall of History (North Carolina Historical Commission).
