Annotation: 

Explains how Blacks, Lumbees, and Jews viewed their own ethnic group and how Anglo-Saxon Whites viewed each minority in the county during Blu’s fieldwork, 1967-68.  Whites had no widely held image of Lumbees.  Lumbees used this disagreement to gain separate schools and legal recognition.
