The director of North Carolina Emergency Management, Mike Sprayberry, will be the keynote speaker during a commemoration event for Hurricane Matthew at UNC-P on October 5th. “‘Hurricane Matthew was a transformative event in the history of Robeson County and for all of Southeastern North Carolina,’” says Jeff Frederick, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UNCP (para. 4). The program will include a roundtable discussion and a video presentation of Hurricane Matthew and the aftermath as well as music and art inspired by the devastating storm.
