Quillin, Martha. "A month after Hurricane Matthew, many in Lumberton despair of ever getting back to normal." The News & Observer [Raleigh, NC]. November 15, 2016.

Annotation:

A month after Hurricane Matthew, people are trying hard to get back to normal. “'People still don’t know where they’re going to go,' said Thurman Everett, moderator of the Lumber River Missionary Baptist Association” (para. 2). The governor’s office says nearly 80,000 residential structures were damaged. FEMA cannot help people who do not have insurance, which is more common for low socioeconomic areas. Many people rely on volunteers for help. People are staying in hotels or with relatives while they wait to rebuild.
