Tuskegee University’s College of Medicine and the University of North Carolina Pembroke are launching a pathway program for UNCP graduates to get veterinarian medicine degrees at Tuskeegee University. The partnership aims to increase racial diversity in the veterinary field. The program places preference on minority students, especially Native Americans. "'The history between Tuskegee University and the Lumbee Tribe is monumental,’ says Tuskeegee Dean of Veterinary Medicine, Ruby Perry (para. 6).
