Larry Chavis is a professor of strategy and entrepreneurship at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Chavis is a Lumbee Tribe member who grew up in Lumberton. Chavis has taken students on international trips in order to teach them about diversity and culture. Chavis has an MS in applied economics, an MA in Asian studies, and a PhD from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. “'I am just a guy who grew up in rural North Carolina...Now I’m living the dream,’” says Chavis (para. 29).
